Alright guys it happened. Star Wars Rebels came out last night! And I have to say it was pretty good. When the series was first announced I was pretty scared, because something like this had happened before. When Disney bought the rights to Marvel Studios they cancelled Avengers Earth Mightiest Heroes and replaced it with the watered down no character development abomination Avengers Assemble and really didn't want that to happen to star wars. But I was not disappointed so lets start analysing.
Characters
Ezra: Ezra was the main character for the first two episodes. He lost he parents, is living on the streets you get the just. I'm not a huge fan of this guy. He just comes off arrogant and stupid in my opinion. I know why he is in the series, so younger kids can relate to him and blah blah blah but I just don't like him.
Kanan: This guy is a boss. Kanan is a Jedi that survived Order 66 and after he went into hiding he thought to himself "I should totally become Malcolm Reynolds from firefly" and he did and it's awesome. I really like the way he uses the fact that he is Jedi in a world that thought Jedi were extinct. He just as likely to use a blaster as he is to use his lightsaber and when I saw he I thought to myself "there is one who I could follow, there is one who I could call Master Jedi.
Zeb: Zeb is the muscle of this group so you know his personality. I was really happy at how Zeb didn't just come off as a jerk they do show that Zeb has emotions and feelings. He was pretty funny too. I want to know more about his species and how he got that awesome weapon.
Sabine: Sabine is explosive expert on the team. She is sassy sly and likes to blow things up. Oh and she's a Mandaloria so instantly I want to know more. The last time we saw Mandlorians in Clone Wars was when Darth Maul had taken over death watch and there was a mini civil war going on the planet. So I want to know, how does it turn out? Who is leading Mandalore? And will we be seeing a certain Mandalorian Clone? (Boba Fett). I did like Sabine though I think she has potential.
Hera: Hera is the Twi'lek owner of the Ghost the ship that is totally not a relative of Serenity. Hera has a good personality on her shoulders. She is smart, she knows what she's fighting for and she is totally the "mother" of the group. I think she's a great character and I ship her with Kanan..............................search your feelings you know it to be true.
Chopper: Chopper is the groups Astromech droid and he is hilarious. He is the complete opposite of R2-D2. There was one seen where Ezra was trying to break in to Kanans room and Chopper just walked right be it. And that blew my mind! R2 would have charged in there with his tazer zapping.
The Villain of this episode was Agent Kallus. He was pretty cool but he didn't get enough screen time for me to make an opinion. I'm just waiting for Vader to show up.
My only complaint in this episode would be the animation. It's the same style of animation but it's different. The characters are rounder then they were with clone wars and it's weird.
So Star Wars Rebels did you see it? Do you love it? Do you hate it? Do you just want Clone wars to come back. And who are you hoping to appear in this series.
